Neuromas occur most commonly between the third and fourth toes. They are caused by a pinching of the nerves between the metatarsals, which results in inflammation. As the irritation continues, the nerve gets larger and causes sharp pain, cramping, and burning. Shoes that are too tight will aggravate the condition. Neuromas can be treated with cortisone injections, orthotics, dehydrated alcohol injections and with surgical exicsion.
Dr. Eric Silvers and the staff at McKinney Foot and Ankle Center are committed to gentle treatment for foot neuromas. Visit our website at www.mckinneyfootcenter.com. Our office is located in McKinney, Texas and we can be reached at 972-542-2155.
